Anthropometric & Ergonomic

Anthropometric refers to the measurement of human Individual and its movement.
It involves in researching and collecting statistics / any relevant measurement to human's body which is called Anthropometric Data.

Anthropometric has an important role in Industrial Design, Clothing Design, Ergonomics, and Architecture where the statistical datas are used to optimize products. Also changes in lifestyles, nutrition, and ethnic compositition of population lead the change of body dimensions ( ex : Obesity ) and require regular updating of Anthropometric data collections.

The pictures below are the example of Anthropometric Data :

Ergonomics refer to human's relation with his working environment ( comfort, functional , systematic). The environment must be comfortable and efficient for human's safety.

OFFICE TABLE

The dimension of Office Table must be suitable for workers especially when they are sitting or standing.

Height : Height of the table must not touch thighs, workers can't move freely especially to those who work with computer on the left or when they want to stand up ( especially for big size human ).
The minumum height of Office Table is suggested to be the same high as human's elbow.

Width / Depth : Suggested to be as long as worker's hand so it can ease the workers to reach stuffs.

For the Office table which has drawers on the left or right side, the width of the drawer must not be too wide unless the table is wide since workers who work with computer on the left side and writing on the right side might not move freely because of the existence of the drawer.
